| Jacuzzi assets find new home |
Carvin Pool Equipment Inc., is the result of a joint venture between VIF Moulds & Plastics and Anchor Plastics Ltd. ©Image from BigStockPhoto.com Carvin Pool Equipment Inc., in St-Hyacinthe, Que., has purchased the Jacuzzi assets of Competition Pool in Mirabel, Que., and will now manufacture, assemble and distribute the Jacuzzi line of filters, pumps, white goods and all replacement parts. This new company is the result of a joint venture between VIF Moulds & Plastics and Anchor Plastics Ltd., which have been moulding the Jacuzzi filtration line for over 15 years. Competition Pools, which had close to 100 employees, was founded and owned by Christian Patron (president) and Mario Lampron (vice-president). Carvin Pools, headed by Angy Potvin (president) and Thierry Carrière (vice-president), has retained both Patron and Lampron along with several other employees. In 2007, Competition Pools entered into a license agreement to use the Jacuzzi mark on high-end pool equipment and accessory products. This line complemented the accessories line Competition had purchased from Cantar/Polyair.
