Waiting to start the day at the 2009 Toronto chapter golf tournament.

The Toronto chapter of the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada enjoyed sunny skies and light breezes during its annual golf tournament this past August in Kleinburg, Ont.

A total of 128 golfers hit the links at the Kleinburg Golf Club, with 135 people enjoying the dinner and gift giveaway that followed. Several golfers garnered awards for their performance, including:

•John Bliszczuk, Brian Barr, Ted Tkachyk and Jason Stronach from SCP Distributors, who won the grand-prize team trophy for the lowest combined score, 15 under par (Barr also took home the men's closest-to-the-pin honours);
•Leanne Kennedy of AECC San Juan, who won the ladies' closest-to-the-pin contest;
•Tom Hammond of SCP Distributors, who won the men's longest-drive competition;
•Nicole Robinson of Natural Chemistry, who won the ladies' longest-drive competition; and
•Mike Accettura of Halton Pools & Spas, who won the putting contest.

Other event highlights included a prize table worth more than $5,000 and a 50/50 draw won by Craig Walters of Seaway Pools, who collected $700 cash. The balance was donated to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Giveaway prizes, competitions and holes were generously sponsored by several local pool companies.
