The award for best foursome at the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada's (PHTCC's) Niagara chapter golf tournament went to (L-R) Fraser Winterburn, Warren Moody, Corey Miller and David Schwenker.

Some of the best weather of the summer greeted members of the Niagara chapter of the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC) as they teed off for their annual golf tournament this past September.

Golfers mingled, enjoyed a light lunch and honed their skills on the driving range before the 1 p.m. shotgun start at the Royal Niagara Golf Club (RNGC) in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. After the last putt was made, the day culminated with a buffet-style dinner and prize giveaway. The top foursome of the day, finishing nine under par, was David Schwenker, Fraser Winterburn, Warren Moody and Corey Miller. The team was rewarded for its efforts with a free round of golf for four at RNGC.

The Niagara chapter used the $2,700 raised at the tournament to sponsor a biking team in the first annual Big Move Cancer Ride, a non-competitive biking event through the Niagara Region in support of the Walker Family Cancer Centre. The event, which was held September 20, raised a total of $278,800.

Proceeds from the tournament were used to sponsor the chapter's biking team—(L-R) Mike Thibodeau, Peggy Humber, Terry Martens, John Sawicki and Don Martens—in the Big Move Cancer Ride.
