Judges for the 2008 Art of Water competition (L-R) Tom Tesselaar (Fix-A-Leak), Kevin McKee (Hayward Pool Products), Ria Tesselaar (Fix-A-Leak), Gabriele Lowry (Lowry & Associates), Grace Jorgenson (Sutton Realty) and John Bal (Northeastern Swimming Pool Distributors).

With the judging completed for Pools, Spas & Patios' 2008 Canadian Art of Water Design Awards earlier this month, the industry eagerly awaits the awards ceremony on February 6 at the Renaissance Hotel in Toronto.

At the ceremony, companies that submitted entries, competition judges and invited guests will enjoy a cocktail reception, followed by dinner, the presentation of awards and entertainment.

The 2008 competition had a total of 37 companies participate, including 10 new companies, for a total of 224 entries and 72 winners in diamond, emerald, ruby and sapphire categories. Along with an award plaque, winners are featured in the Spring 2009 issue of Pools, Spas, & Patios magazine, which is distributed through magazine outlets and select pool and hot tub retail stores across Canada, as well as in Pool & Spa Marketing magazine.

Last year, 135 industry members from across Canada attended the event.

The Canadian Art of Water Design Awards, now in its fourth year, is open to all Canadian builders of swimming pools and spas.
