InnovaPlas, a manufacturer of above-ground pool entry systems based in Sherbrooke, Que., has entered the roto-moulded, 'plug-and-play' hot tub category with the acquisition of Lumi-O International. Serving the industry since 1982, Lumi-O, based in St-Jérôme, Que., also manufactures drop-in pool steps as well as inground and above-ground pool lighting systems. "We are very excited to enter the roto-moulded 'plug-n-play' spa category," said Charles Goulet, president of InnovaPlas. "With this acquisition, InnovaPlas now owns all of the patents for drop-in steps, from stackable designs to the ballast system of the wedding-cake style steps, along with numerous other design patents." Lumi-O will continue to operate as a separate entity with its existing staff.
