| U.S. hot tub company signs deal with Costco Canada |
Photo courtesy Apollo Spas Apollo Spas, a Spokane, Wash.-based hot tub manufacturer, has signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Costco Canada to become its exclusive hot tub supplier. A recent deal between Costco Canada and Apollo Spas will see the U.S.-based hot tub manufacturer become the membership warehouse club's exclusive supplier of in-store hot tub products. The deal represents an extra $3 million US in sales for Apollo, with Costco Canada forecasting even higher sales volumes. Costco operates more than 60 stores across Canada, 54 of which carry Apollo hot tubs. "As the trend toward overseas manufacturing seems to continue, it is refreshing to see an exception," says Steve MacDonald, Apollo's plant manager in Spokane, Wash. "Three million in sales may seem like a drop in the bucket as the river of manufacturing work flows out of the United States, but its better than 'zero' million." Apollo manufactures a full range of domestic hot tubs, spas and bathtubs and supplies more than 150 hot tub retailers throughout Canada, the United States and Europe.
