![]() Michael Verkaik, 64 Michael Verkaik of Quality Pools & Spas in Chatham, Ont., passed away suddenly in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on January 16, 2009. He was 64. Along with his wife Sandra, Michael owned Quality Pools & Spas, a business founded in 1969, which developed into a major retailer of pools, spas, saunas and accessories over the past 40 years. He also leaves behind daughters, Jeanette, Janice and son, Darryl. In his memory, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Chatham-Kent OSPCA.
