Major revamp planned for legacy aquatic facility

As New Brunswick prepares to co-host the 2029 Canada Summer Games, the province’s only Olympic-sized pool, the Canada Games Aquatic Centre, is about to receive a major construction-driven facelift.

According to a report by the Telegraph Journal[1], the renovation represents one of the largest public aquatic infrastructure investments in Atlantic Canada in decades.

Originally built for the 1985 Games, the $25-million renovation project aims to extend the life and functionality of the 40-year-old facility. The overhaul will include structural and cosmetic upgrades designed to meet national competition standards while modernizing the pool experience for everyday users.
