The Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code (CMAHC) has released a new resource to support aquatic safety: the Aquatic Safety Plan Template.

The template, designed to help aquatic venues develop or update their safety protocols, aligns with Section 6.3.3 of the CDC’s Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC).

Aquatic Safety Plans are critical documents that outline emergency response procedures, staff training, and daily operational protocols. However, many facilities face challenges consolidating this information, which is often spread across multiple manuals and agency documents. CMAHC’s new template streamlines the process by offering a structured approach to organizing and updating safety procedures in a single, accessible document.

Aquatic venues are encouraged to treat the Safety Plan as a living document, updating it regularly to reflect changes in staffing, operations, legislation, and water features.

The Aquatic Safety Plan Template is available for free download.
