Day In The Life—of Imran Patel, Bremner Pool & Spa

By Tanya Martins

No two days are alike in the pool and spa industry. In our Day in the Life series, we offer a behind-the-scenes look at the people who keep operations running smoothly. Today, we follow Imran Patel, owner and office manager at Bremner Pool & Spa.

Patel’s role focuses on supporting both customers and crews. Most of his week is dedicated to co-ordinating service routes that include everything from routine maintenance and seasonal openings to leak detection, repairs, and full renovations. His day begins early, around 6 a.m., with reviewing emails and messages to identify urgent issues before the phones start ringing.

By late morning, communication is in full swing. He manages customer inquiries and regularly updates field technicians, ensuring schedules stay on track and issues are resolved promptly.

In an industry affected by weather, equipment issues, and last-minute requests, adaptability is essential. Whether it is a pool turning green before a weekend event or a heater failing at the worst possible time, priorities can shift instantly.

His phone functions as a mobile command centre—managing schedules, troubleshooting issues, and keeping everyone connected.

A key aspect of the role is judgment: understanding what requires immediate action and what can be delayed, while minimizing disruption to customers and staff.

At the end of the day, Patel reviews upcoming work orders to make sure the next day goes smoothly. For him, success is simple—when the team is on schedule, customers are happy, and the unexpected has been managed.
